Eco-Friendly Radio Controlled Cars
On this post we will show you some of the eco-friendly remote control cars for you. Having some fun and saving the earth at the same time (by infecting your friends with go green virus) would be a great idea, don’t you think?
Solar Remote Control Cars
Sun, the most powerful energy source in our lives. Us living creatures only use a teeny bit of them. Using more of it wouldn’t hurt don’t you think? Besides, it doesn’t harm the environment! This kind of radio controlled toys is obviously a good choice for you.
Watch this video to see how to make a solar remote control car.

To put this simply, it’s an ordinary electric RC car, but the electricity doesn’t come from batteries, the car got it from photovoltaic reaction from the solar panel
The H2O-powered Corgi H2GO RC Car
Just in case some of you are wondering what is H2O, it’s water, plain old water. Yes, unlike Nitro RC or Gas RC, it uses water as its energy source. Using it as power source is very eco-friendly.
While big cars are still trying to figure out how to properly use hydrogen fuel cells, perhaps using them on RC model cars can aid them in the process. We’ve seen some of those water-powered cars before, but the Corgi H2GO is a world first because you can actually steer it. Previous models didn’t prove too exciting as they just went in a straight line, you can’t turn it.
The Corgi H2GO also uses solar panel. This RC Toy works by charging the filling station using the solar panel, then pouring water into the chamber where it breaks down into hydrogen. The hydrogen is then turned into electricity using a fuel cell. A very eco-friendly way of firing up the Radio Control Cars into action.
It won’t reach any speed records, but less than a glass will give you two days of continuous driving, without bashing our beloved mother earth.
Sugar RC – It Eats Sugar!
Recently, Japanese toy maker Takara Tomy claimed that they had a soda-powered Radio Controlled Car, and they have delivered on that promise with the “Ene Pocket”.
The car runs on Sony’s Bio Battery which, in turn, gets its energy from breaking down sugars like those found in soda and fruit drinks. Therefore, the efficiency of the car depends on the liquid used (apparently, grape juice is the best). Obviously, this kind of toy is intended as an eco-friendly alternative to electricity, although you might going to think that we’re wasting food. At any rate, the car is still in the prototype phase, so there is no word yet on when it might actually be available for sale.
