Radio Controlled Toys – Great Present for Kids

Think back and recall your first favorite toys when you were little. Now think about your kids, and imagine the joy you’ll bring to them when you give them a cool new radio controlled toy!

Playing with radio controlled toys is one of the most fun things for young boys to do nowadays. They see helicopters and planes flying on their favorite television shows. Believe it or not, radio controlled toys are very easy to use. Maybe your son loves race cars or maybe they dream to be a pilot. With radio controlled toys, they can actually fly miniature version of the real planes!

Practically every young boy would absolutely love to have a radio controlled toy. Even some adults like radio controlled toys too! So try playing with them, and maybe you’ll have some fun too.

Radio controlled or remote controlled devices can be hobby grade or toy grade. Toy grade RC devices are usually available at retail toy stores and may be purchased by people for their children to play with.  These are mostly mass-produced toys, produced in bulk quantities and comprise of unrepairable parts. Most of the radio controlled toy grade devices are not durable as they are made from soft materials that are easily breakable. Also, they are mostly electric so always have batteries at hand.

On the other hand, Hobby grade radio controlled devices are meant for the serious enthusiast. The material is durable and the items are usually custom made. More often these devices need to be assembled, but the stores may deliver the assembled piece, if you so wish. They are powered by electric, nitro, or gas.

The various types of rc toys available presently are described below:

1. RC Airplanes:
The RC airplane is available in various shapes and sizes, from gas turbine driven models to the smaller flyers. Since the RC airplanes are complex toys they require some amount of control and knowledge of flying.

2. RC Cars:
Cars are the most common and the most popular among the RC toys. They are either powered by fuel or electricity. The RC cars may be used in on-road or off-road races. The RC cars are easy to use and safer compared to RC airborne toys. RC Trucks are also part of the family.

3. RC Helicopters:
This is another airborne device. However, its design and flying pattern is different from that of an airplane.

4. RC Boat:
The first radio controlled toy to be created was a boat as demonstrated by Tesla. There are also RC Warship or Battleship, they are made for naval paintball combat (No, not for real battle, just for games)

5. Robotics:
Robotics is popular in Japan, but the western world is also fast catching up. Robotics is moving to the latest technology of artificial intelligence and voice control models.

6. RC Tanks:
These kind of toys are modeled after real tanks. Specially made for paintball combat. Usually sold in pairs for that purpose.

Beginner’s Guide to Radio Controlled Toys

Radio Control Helicopter Toys

Radio controlled toys have developed into a growing industry for both children’s toys and for the serious hobbyists. With such a huge range of toys available, knowing what to buy is one of the hardest parts.

In 1893, Nikola Tesla created the first radio controlled device, when he designed and demonstrated the radio controlled boat. Back then Radio controlled technology was developed to be used in war. These days, however, the emphasis is on fun. Radio controlled toys come in a range of sizes and costs to suit the potential buyer.

There is a huge collection of radio controlled products available today, which includes remote control cars, airplanes, helicopters, blimps and even tractors for the workers out there! If you prefer to stay on the ground, then the Tamiya Lunch Box can be great fun. Revell models have just released a great new range of radio control helicopters. The Revell Huey Attack RC Helicopter offers great performance at a superb low price and is ideal for beginners. With speeds up to 40mph, fun is guaranteed with this toy.

The RC models can be electric models as well as fuel models. The electric models work with electrical speed control, and the fuel control systems utilize the radio control mechanisms to regulate the fuel input and the such.

The rc toys can be toy grade or hobby grade. The Radio Controlled devices can be varied, and include radio controlled cars, rc trucks, tanks, boats, airplanes, remote control helicopters and even robotics. Robotics are another hobby, which are even more interesting when combined with radio controlled or remote controlled toys.
