Just like flying an RC Plane, flying a remote controlled helicopter can be very exciting and at the same time very challenging if you’re a beginner. This kind of remote control toy is fun to play. For beginners, Dual-rotor aka (coaxial rotor) helicopter is recommended. Coaxial rotors provide a smother flight stability, these type of helicopters don’t usually have a tail rotor. Because each coaxial rotor spins in opposite directions the pilot can turn by applying more force to either rotor making it easier to learn to fly. But if you prefer more of a challenge, try flying helicopter with a single rotor, which consists of the main rotor and tail rotor. These types of remote controlled helicopters are more difficult to fly because you must learn to control both rotors.

Beginners will appreciate a quick learning period requiring minimal practice to fly the RC helicopters we’re discussing here. Recommendations: the Esky Honey Bee CP 3, the Skyartec WASP V3

Good choices if you’d like to upgrade to a beginner-friendly but more sophisticated remote control helicopter: The Double Horse RC Helicopters models 9060, 9070, 9081.

A RC helicopter simulator is a great way to practice flying without the fear of costly repairs. Flying an RC helicopter toy is a great experience and should not be a hassle, learning more about this hobby is really rewarding. Learning to fly your remote controlled helicopter takes time and patience so take it easy and stick with the basics and you’ll be a master pilot in no time.
