RC Helicopters – Great Hobby and Gift

If you are wondering what would make the perfect gift for somebody’s birthday or holiday, Remote Control Helicopter would be the perfect choice.

Over the past few years remote helicopter technology has made such advances that today even a first remote control helicopter user can fly one easily.

It was only a few years ago that electric RC micro helicopters became cheap enough for many people. Now there are even nitro RC helicopters. Today a person who shops smart will buy a model that won’t break the bank.

Although most people do not know it, there are a terrific number and variety of makes and models of these exceptional hobby helicopters on the market today. Few big retailers even stock a line of Radio Control Toy Helicopters and those that do usually have a very limited selection. Do not bother looking for radio controlled helicopters at large stores like Wal-Mart or Big K because they’re not going to have them in stock.

Certainly, you can look for one of these increasingly rare small hobby stores or drive to a large mall but you can plan on finding a very limited selection at a premium price—if you can even find a Radio Controlled Helicopter.

Radio Controlled Toy Helicopters are really fun and can be enjoyed indoors and out so simply shop online.

Most come ready-to-fly. Some models weigh only a few ounces and will fit in a child’s hand but fly forward, backward, left and right.

Internet stores offer the largest selection of RC models and often the best prices.

Why RC Helicopters?

There are several reasons why getting a Radio Controlled Helicopters could actually be a very good idea.

Price

Many RC helis are very expensive but that doesn’t mean you can get some of them on the cheap.

Realism

The cheap ones that you may go out and buy for your kids aren’t the same ones that you should be buying for yourself. Often these toys will only be able to hover for a short time and this is the difference between an RC toys and a machine RC. The more expensive ones are made especially to be just like the real thing.

Building

Many of the RC helicopters have to be built and can take from 5-20 hours to build, and it’s kind of fun

Competition

You can go out and attend one of these to see what goes on, they perform so many different cool stunts.

Crashing

Crashed? Don’t worry, you can buy some spares for reasonable prices.

RC Boats

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Even though RC Boat are not traditionally as popular as other RCs such as remote control cars, RC trucks, RC planes, and radio controlled helicopters or even RC Tanks they have a very devote following. And just like all radio controlled toys, there is a lot of consideration to keep in mind before jumping into Radio Controlled Boats.

That shape defines the boat and its overall performance in the water.

Here are the five shapes that RC Toy Boats come in:

Deep V’s historically the most popular of RC boats, the Deep V’s capture top speed time and again. So named because of the V shape hull, this shape allows the boat to absorb a large amount of impact from big waves in choppy waters.

Catamarans are the two sponsors RC boats you see with off-shore race boats. They have incredible stability because of the two separate point of contact with the water, although this makes increase drag and can’t reach the top speed.

Hydroplanes skim across water. To simplify things, just see this type of boat as F1 Boat.

Sailboats are by far the slowest and most relaxing boat out there. This kind of boats isn’t pushed by engine; you merely control the direction and the length of sail, quite difficult to operate.

Mini’s a great introduction to the world of Remote Control Toy boating. Just as the name suggests, this type of boat is small. They’re mostly RTR (Ready to Race)

That’s about the shape. Now let’s talk about the power source.

Gasoline powered – Similar to what you would use with a weed whacker, Radio Control Toy Boats can run off a gasoline and oil mixture. Remember that gasoline powered boats will have a very realistic sound as the engine is roared.

Electric powered – Sometimes you are going to want to put your boat somewhere with noise ordinances. In order to have the same experience but without that noise, electric RC boats are preferred

Nitro powered – Can be found at most local hobby store. This will cost a bit more, but safer, and will be worth it since you won’t have to mix gas and oil together yourself.

If you’re thinking about buying an RC boat, there are several things that you must consider before making the final choice. If you’re a small time user and you only want one to drive in the pool then pick your favorite electric RC boat. If you’re a more advanced user and you actually want to drive ultra fast, be sure to get a gas RC boat to make that happen.

Unique Radio Control Cars

Today we’ll talk about two unique Remote Control Cars. We’ve seen many RC Cars but most of them are ordinary cars, so in case you’re bored let’s look at these two strange RC Toys.

Block Radio Controll – Block RC Car

As you can guess from the name, it’s made of blocks like ones in LEGO. It can move, it have its own remote control, and you can customize it just like any other block toys!

When stripped bare, this R/C vehicle just looks like a flat LEGO base. Start snapping on some of the 108 included color blocks, and you can build your own unique RC Car. You can always change its look when you get bored. The BlockCar base comes in 3 choice of colors – blue, yellow or red versions – and even has built-in headlights and tail lights (I think this implies it’s an electric RC, battery powered). And if you get really creative, you could join multiple those block radio controlled cars together to make one megaBlockCar!

Stealth Rides RC Car – The World’s First Foldable RC Car

We haven’t seen too many notable Radio Controlled Toy Cars since Takara Tomy’s wall-climbing AeroSpider RC turned our world upside down way back in late 2008.However, Mattel might just have what we always wanted – Stealth Rides Cars! This foldable Remote Control Car is so small, barely the size of a USB flash drive. It morphs just like in Transformers (which is cool!). You can have it for $25 on its debut next August. Mattel also plans to roll out five different RC Models of this pocket-sized trinket, and one of them will be the Batmobile Tumbler.
